Unconsciously we are forming habits every moment of our lives. Some habits are good others not so good. Your every act - every conscious act - is preceded by a thought. Your dominating thoughts determine your dominating actions.
Is it true that you can think and grow rich? Absolutely! How does an athlete reach a level of success, or a student, or parent or business person? They think about what needs to be done, in other words they have a plan. The plan may entail getting up early, training, preparing and applying themselves. They don’t just get up in the morning and see where the day takes them. When you don’t plan, nothing happens. You need to Think about your destination and then you can take the necessary steps.
Have you read the Napoleon Hill classic titled Think and Grow rich? If not, get your hands on a copy and study it.
We all know what we need to do, yet we often don’t do it. We want to get fit but don’t go to the gym. We want to build our client list, but don’t go out and network. We often do not spend enough time thinking and planning how we should run our life.
We may see others in our industry achieving great results and success and not consider that we could achieve the same level of success if we were to consciously decide (think) and put forth the necessary effort.
So why are some salons successful and the others not?
The one salon owner may haphazard place adverts and hope the phone rings. The other salon owner may be working on their sales message, and intentionally working on their business. They are constantly studying their industry and they don’t idly wait for clients. They actively get involved within their community. They become know within their community, so that when a client needs her hair cut; guess who pops into their mind. The active entrepreneur will find publicity opportunities and meet the locals, so that she can build a name for herself.
Why are you not doing that you need to do? It could be:
1. You don’t think about it
2. You do think about it, but you allow other thoughts to dominate and so you get distracted and rather do other thing. They may seem important, yet they are keeping you from reaching your real goals.
If you get to the end of the day and you realise you should have done xyz, but it’s too late now - pity you didn’t think about it sooner. This means you are living life by simply seeing what happens. You do not have a formal plan. Once you have a plan, you will need a diary and notes to remind you to keep you on track.
If things just keep popping up and distracting you and before you know it another day is gone. You need to realise that next week, next year, you may still be saying the same thing. Either you consciously decide that come what may, this is what I want and I will single-mindedly get what I want. This is the ideal of full and perfect self-mastery. It’s up to You!
Thought is at the beginning of all progress, all success or failure, of all that is desirable or undesirable in human life. Thoughts are forces, and each creates of its kind, whether we realize it or not. The great law of attraction (the drawing power of the mind), which says that like creates like, and that like attracts like, is continually working in every human life, for it is one of the great immutable laws of the universe.
Your progress may be slow at first, but keep at it and you will gain momentum. And with time your rate of progress will increase.
