The Spa Party offers guest the opportunity to enjoy special time with their friends to relax and chat. The Spa party is about connecting with your friends, enjoying the beautiful spa surroundings, the usual comfort and luxury the spa has to offer with delicious scents, soft music, drinks and healthy food.  Spa guests lounge with their friends in spa robes and slippers in an open area to accommodate multiple guests and enhance the social aspect.

Spa Parties have turned the isolated spa treatment room into a super social event where the spa becomes the hang out. Social spa-ing has led to mobile spa businesses popping up offering home and corporate visits.

Spa parties usually have a minimum number of guests, and reserve both the treatments and the facility in advance with a non-refundable booking fee which is deducted from the charge on the day of the spa party.

The treatments are set-up in rounds which means guests take turns having their treatments. For example there may be a therapist attending to facials and another attending to body treatments, while there is another area for chatting, relaxing and another session in the spa bath. A spa may have dedicated spa party packages or clients may customise a package deal in advance.

It is important to be organised to ensure the flow of clients in correct sequence so that everyone gets a turn in each treatment area.

The Spa Atmosphere

A comfortable, warm, inviting setting with soft music, ambience, cushions, throws, light and healthy snacks in an open area to encourage the social aspect of connecting and mingling.

The Spa Party Food

You can’t have a spa party without delicious snacks or a meal.

At a minimum, you should consider the following: Pitchers of spa water with fruit, cucumbers and mint leaves on a tray. Light juice or punch, nothing heavy or sugary. Fresh Fruit, Vegetables and dip. Tea breads, muffins or rolls. Hot Tea Service and small cookies or cakes. 

The Spa Party Treatments

Spa Party Treatments may incorporate your regular spa treatments however you may adjust the time of certain treatments. For example your usual manicure and pedicure may take an hour each. You may adjust these treatments to a mini-manicure and mini-pedicure so that it takes 30 minutes each. This gives you more time to spend on face and body treatments. Massage, Scalp Treatment, Hand & Foot Massage, Body Polish, Mud wraps, Detoxifying, water therapy, and Facials are usually popular spa treatments. 

Spa Party Themes

Generally the spa is a place of private tranquillity, soft relaxing music for peace and quiet. But the spa Party is a social event of fun and laughter. The Spa Party encourages interaction. The spa party is about building relationships while being pampered together. Think of the spa party as a time of celebration. The spa party may cater for a bachelorette party, birthday party or simply a fun time for mum, daughters and friends.

The Spa Party may offers clients the option of DIY spa-ing such as the rasul where friends can apply coloured mud to each other.  Spa treatments can be combined with food, alcohol and a party atmosphere. The new spa party experience may include wine-tasting with Vinotherapy, or cocktails with your manicure, Educational Spa Party where you learn about yoga or how to cook, make jewellery or a numerology reading.

Spa Parties are also aimed at the pre-teens who may enjoy ice cream socials, facial masks, manicures and foot soaks, nail art, glitzy make-up and a chocolate fountain.

Educate your Staff in the Social Spa Elements

The Therapist becomes the host of the group pampering. The spa party is not your regular one-on-one spa experience. There is no need to whisper and feel restricted. The Esthetician needs to quickly make the guests feel welcome. She needs to be warm and welcoming, mingle and connect with her guest so that they feel comfortable to be themselves with their group of friends. The beauty therapist may socialise with her guest if she feels it is welcomed by her clients. Or she may blend into the background and just perform her treatments. She needs to read the situation. She needs to take care of her guests needs and encourage them to use the facilities and enjoy themselves.
