BUILD YOUR PEOPLE SKILLS. Communicate assertively. An assertive person acknowledges their client perception and beliefs. Recognizing their side and their concern; shows respect and usually this results in reciprocal behaviour.
MAKE EYE CONTACT. Making eye contact is a powerful way of establishing a communicative link between people.
A LITTLE BIT OF APPRECIATION GOES A LONG WAY. Tell people how much you appreciate them. Pay attention to what is going on in your client’s lives. Take responsibility for the quality of your communications.
LISTEN. Pause and breathe after a person has spoken. It will earn you more respect. Most people are waiting for the other person to breathe so that they can fire away and dominate the conversation. They are not really listening but waiting for their chance to talk.
WHAT DO YOU WANT OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS? Goals are crucial. When you don’t plan to go anywhere, where do you think you will end up? If you’re not sure about your goals, it’s time for reflection. Make a list of the things you want to achieve. Take your time with your list and divide it into long term and short term goals. Be very specific about what you want. Next map a step by step process. This will be your action plan. Each week review your process to ensure you stay on track.
TIME TO THINK. There is nothing that will bring us more abundant return than to take a little time each day to plan. We need time to think. We need this to get the kinks out of our minds, and out of our lives. We need this to form better the higher ideals of life. We need this to see clearly the things we need to focus our attention on. We need this to make renew our conscious connection with our ultimate goals. We need this so that the rush and hurry of the day doesn’t lead us away from manifesting our ideals.
PROGRAMME YOURSELF FOR SUCCESS. Visualisation is the key to programming your mind for success. Get comfortable and relax, close your eyes and visualise your success. This is a powerful technique for motivating yourself and building the self-confidence needed to achieve your goals. In your mind’s eye see clear, detailed pictures, of what you really want is one of the critical factors for your success.
SELF-TALK HAS AN EMPOWERING EFFECT. You can induce new thoughts and new beliefs with affirmations or suggestions. Monitor your self-talk. The more you catch yourself in negative self-talk and stop to analyse why you are criticizing yourself, the more you can redirect yourself to positive action. In this way you can change limiting beliefs into positive beliefs. Use self-talk to your benefit.
MAKE YOUR PEOPLE FEEL IMPORTANT. Try it. Let your clients, staff, friends and family feel important. Take the time and effort to remember your client’s name. When they are finished talking, pause and breathe for a moment.... All people like to be Appreciated and acknowledged. Don’t miss a chance to compliment people. Offer advice, assistance and as much help as you can. When you fill your clients need, you too will feel fulfilled. When you treat your clients like number one, the benefits will flow to you in abundance.
