Spas and Beauty Salons have become so popular that there are countless books, magazines and software dedicated solely to the subject. Women don’t wear strappy sandals without a pedicure or at least painted toe nails. Women are embracing beauty and making salon treatments part of their regular beauty regime. Some suburbs have nail bars, beauty and hair salon on every corner.

People spend untold amounts on health and beauty services. The industry is ever expanding with tanning and makeup application, botox injections, laser hair removal etc.

Making money is not just about the product or service you sell. The real money is in the experience you provide for clients. Money is spent on the experience. The client buys to memorialize and remember the experience.
You can just get married in court or you can go all out and spend a fortune on unlimited luxury
and have a bang of a wedding celebration. Most people fall somewhere in the middle according to their budget and according to their dreams.

Likewise the spa industry varies from regular spa treatments to the outlandish, ultra lush and extravagant.

More spas and salons are realizing they need to offer an experience to stand out among an ever growing number of salons opening shop.

How can you “memorialize” your service, so that clients remember the Experience?

• Perhaps while she has her facial and is relaxing with her mask, you can paint her nails. Her pretty nails will memorialize her facial treatment and bring back the memory of the relaxation and how great her skin felt and looked.

• Belly casts are the new trend to memorialize a pregnancy. Prenatal Massage Therapists are offering the belly casting service for mothers-to-be. These three-dimensional sculptures offer a great way to memorialize a woman’s pregnant form. It also memorializes the unique visit to your spa and the memory of the prenatal massage.

• Offer a special gift (memorabilia) to clients when they depart from your Spa, a special gift will memorialize his or her visit.

• Integrate spa treatments from around the world. Create a “Trip around the World!” by integrating nurturing European, Asian and Alternative Therapies. Integrated therapies provide a unique combination of services. Customised treatments are an experience to remember.

• Memorialize a product purchase by gift wrapping the product. We all like beautiful packaging and gift wrapping. It makes us feel special and it makes the experience more memorable. Attach a little gift tag – Thank you for your purchase!

• Private label skin care is a way to customise your product and the distinction will memorialise the salon experience. I went to Xyz Salon and I can prove it, with my branded products.

• Do you own a resort or destination spa with unlimited luxury in a magical setting? When a moment is important and unusual is important enough to memorialise it with a photo.

• Email you clients and include a photo of your salon. Remind them of the salon moments they have experience. Then invite them to visit you again.

• Up your service. In an ever-changing world, you need to keep evolving. Anticipate your client’s needs and exceed them.
